                             The Research Report
                              How to write the report
 


 1)  First we write an introduction;

2) We can write heading for each section of the report;

3)We can use questions as headings when we want to give the answers  ina section of the report;

4) We can give quotes from people who know a lot about the topic;

5) We can put facts or figures but we must check if they are true.
Task:  Read the research report "The Internet". Then fill in the blanks putting your partner the questions. Then present the report to your group.

How to understand the Net
A good way to understand how the Net works is to think about all the computers in your school.  All the computers  ...............where you can put in and get out information and ......... .
The space is called a network. All the computers in the scool are connected to this.

Now , imagine that a friend from a different school uses a different network and you want to share .........   from your networks.  To do this, you both ........ your......... to a device called a modem . The modem allows your computer to share information from different networks. This is called "inter-networking" which is also called th Net. It is a way of sending information from one computer to another anywhere in the world!
Who invented the Net?

Over the next 20 years, business and universities joined until they made  a............. . Then, in 1990s, ordinary people started  to use it, too.

No one owns the Net. Computer scientist Carl Dalton explains why. " No one actually owns the Net because it is just a connection of networks. Thre are lots of organisations, governments and schools that own a part of it, but no one owns the whole system". "So, the ............ to everyone".
